Name: Chris Macheras, 20, Undergraduate student (Bachelor of Arts: Political Science / French), University of Melbourne.

Your greatest achievement and how you reached them? Having recently spent a full semester abroad in the US at a University in Chicago. It took time to adjust to a new lifestyle but had the time of my life and made great friends!

Goal(s) for the future? I plan to study Postgraduate Law next year and one day work in Entertainment Law, specifically in the Film Industry.

Best moment of your life? When Greece won the Euro cup and as an entire congregation of Greek on Lonsdale Street, roaring in celebration at the victory!

One word that describes you the best: Balanced.

Person you most admire and why? My Pappou. After living abroad for 6 months with nice accommodation and food, I have come to truly appreciate what my grandfather and all Greek migrants went through during the 50’s and 60’s. From 18 years old he worked so hard to provide for his family; a true Modern day Greek hero in my eyes.

Most embarrassing moment? There have been so many. Falling face first on the floor in front of the entire school assembly in Year 7….I died of embarrassment!

If I could say anything to the Greek community… Stress the importance of maintaining our language in Australian society by pushing for its use and practice in the home !

Favourite place to go or hang out at? Shoppo in Doncaster, Lygon Street, Chapel Street, Crown, Brunswick Street, any cool place in the city.

Song that I can’t get out of my head at the moment? OMG by Usher has been in my head for ages, and I’m always singing Memories by David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi.

Favourite Greek food? Definately has to be a sweet. Its between kataifi (The hairy one), revani and vissino..yum!

I can’t live without… My family and friends.

If I was Kevin Rudd for a day I would… Give everyone another $1000!
