A 40-year-old man was detained by police in Thessaloniki yesterday on charges of forcing his 29-year-old partner and their children to beg for money in Bulgaria and in Greece before pocketing the proceeds.
The 40-year-old, who was arrested in the center of the northern city following a tip-off, was to face a local prosecutor on charges of people trafficking. Police said the suspect was a foreign national but did not determine his country of origin.
