Thousands of people gathered at Port Melbourne’s station pier on Sunday to celebrate the Epiphania.
Bishop Ezekial of Dervis lead the ceremony, while Dimitri Zaferiou won the dive for the cross.
Minister for multicultural affairs Nicholas Kotsiras, Labor’s Shadow Minister for Seniors, Ageing and Youth Services and member for Victoria’s Northern metropolitan region, Jenny Mikakos, Labor’s Federal member for Melbourne Ports, Michael Danby, Federal member for Indi and shadow minister for industry, innovation and science, Sophie Mirabella, and Lord Mayor Robert Doyle were all in attendance.
Ms Mirabella and Mr Danby released white doves at the ceremony, as a representation of peace.
The celebration took place at the historic site of Station pier where thousands of Greek immigrants disembarked during the post war period.
