The Oakleigh Music Festival came to a close last Sunday with the Flavours of Oakleigh festival.
Food and activity stalls graced Warrawee park as happy festival goers were treated to great weather and a day jam-packed with entertainment. The Cooking Demonstration Stage featured culinary delights from around the world.
Festival-goers were shown the intracacies of dolmathes, Chinese pancakes and dumplings. The stage was abuzz with cultural activities as the Manasis School of Greek Dance and Culture showcased some of the junior students’ dancing skills, and as a treat, members of the school and other musicians gave a live acoustic performance of Greek folk songs using traditional and rare instruments, some nearly 100-years-old.
The main stage, the Caravan Music Stage, hosted massive performances from Vika and Linda Bull, Bobby Flynn, and Mick Thomas, but it was the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra who closed the night and made sure the crowd was dancing.
