South Melbourne has decided to not reappoint head coach Eddie Krncevic for the 2012 VPL season.

2011 season will be remembered by South Melbourne as another lost opportunity entering three competitions and not winning a trophy. They were knocked out of the Mirabella Cup by State 1 team Port Melbourne, defeated in the first round of the Singapore Cup by Albirex Nigata and knocked out in week two of the VPL finals by Oakleigh Cannons.

We also saw the departure of football director Ange Dallas and assistant coach Joseph Montemurro before the end of the season which also highlighted a tumultuous season for the famous blue and whites. South Melbourne is now looking ahead to 2012 with great enthusiasm as they come back home to their newly renovated stadium and will be working hard to make their ground once again a fortress for opposing sides.

The football industry is anxious to see who will be appointed as Head Coach to take the club forward through this exciting new era. Rumours are strong former premiership player and current Northcote City coach Peter Tsolakis has been approached for the role fresh after his Mirabella Cup victory.
