The newly renovated Waterford Plaza was officially opened last Sunday, giving Perth a new shopping experience.
The two-year, two-stage development that cost $80 million was completed by owners George Atzemis and Con Berbatis. The plaza will now be the largest shopping complex in South Perth.
The shopping centre was officially opened by the City of South Perth Mayor, Sue Doherty, and Father Emmanuel Stamatiou.
The plaza, located on the corner of Manning Road and Kent Street opposite Curtin University, will house 65 operators and two national supermarket chains: Coles and Supa IGA. Lease Equity managing director Jim Tsagalis, who was responsible for the leasing of the development, told Perth Now that “the overall tenancy mix [he was] able to secure is very strong with an excellent array of national and international retailers, mixed with some local favourites, offering great appeal to the surrounding catchment”.
