Olympiakos Pireaus will take on English Premier League club Arsenal on Tuesday in a must-win UEFA Champions League encounter.
Third in Group F, and a point behind Olympique Marseille, Olympiakos will guarantee progress with victory against section winners Arsenal on matchday six as long as the French side do not beat Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
However the task will be made all the more difficult for the Greek club as they face mounting injury problems ahead of the decisive encounter.
Already missing Jean Makoun with a knee ligament tear, Olympiakos will also be without another midfielder in Ljubomir Fejsa, who underwent an arthroscopy for a meniscus problem in his right knee on Monday sidelining him for three to four weeks.
Moreover, in Sunday’s 2-0 loss at Asteras Tripolis, playmaker David Fuster suffered a groin injury that may keep him out for a fortnight. Midfielder Francisco Yeste damaged his right calf and faces a lay-off of seven to ten days.
