Brisbane Roar captain Matt Smith is hoping to be cleared from injury so he can play Saturday night’s A-League grand final re-match against Central Coast Mariners at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
The injured captain was told by doctors yesterday that the injury he sustained in last week’s loss to Melbourne Victory was just a strain to his adductor muscle in his groin. This is good news for Smith who is resting up for the rest of the week.
Brisbane Roar’s coach Ange Postocoglou said he will monitor Smith’s progress and leave any final decisions on whether he plays to later in the week.
