The eight kilometre stretch of Lady Robinson’s Beach hosted Rockdale City Council’s Family Friendly Fireworks on New Years Eve.
This year, a record number of families witnessed a 20 minute spectacular. Over 100 thousand people, lined from Kyeemagh to the north and Dolls Point in the south to enjoy an amazing fireworks display that was met with cheering and applause from the crowd.
Mayor Bill Saravinovski said “It was a special moment to see all these families sitting and watching the show. The local businesses had a roaring trade but I felt encouraged by the applause the show received, it really made us all feel proud of our beautiful city.”
Councillors Angelo Anestis and Shane O’Brien helped the Mayor countdown to the launch.
