Soccer superstar David Beckham has turned down an offer from French team Paris Saint-Germain opting to stay with LA Galaxy, the team he has played for for five years.
The 36-year-old midfielder has been wooed by various European teams after his five-year contract with LA Galaxy expired at the end of last year. But Beckham has decided not to uproot his family from the US, the country they have been living in since 2007.
“We feel a little disappointed, but both sides agreed it would be better that we not do the deal … maybe in the future,” club president Nasser al-Khelaifi said.
As it stands, Beckham is apparently negotiating with the Americam club for the roll-ou of a new one-year contract.
