The seventh anniversary of George Michael being found slumped in his car on Cricklewood Lane has been celebrated by a group of prankster erecting a fake ‘blue plaque’ at the scene. The plaque, which reads ‘George Michael slept here at 3.20am on October 1, 2006’ was placed on the railings of the lane – the scene where he ‘slept’ in his car.
The 50-year-old singer was arrested in Cricklewood Lane after he was discovered passed out at traffic lights on October 1 2006.
The plaque claims to be an official emblem from Barnet Council, as official blue plaques are scattered all over the UK as part of the plaque scheme, which commemorates notable figures of the past and the buildings in which they lived and worked.
