Singer George Michael is going to stage a charity concert to raise funds for Sir Elton John’s Aids Foundation on November 6 at London’s Royal Opera House.

The gig will benefit the charity’s newly created Elizabeth Taylor Memorial Fund. Taylor was a driving force in fundraising for AIDs and HIV awareness following the death of her close friend and actor Rock Hudson in 1985.

Michael and Elton John had a very public fall out in the 90s after Michaels’ descent into drug addiction. This concert is their first public display of reconciliation and for a charitable cause. The Sir Elton John Aids Foundation has raised more than £80m since it was set up by the singer in 1992.
