The Travelling Kitchen offers a hands-on incursion program, run at crèches, kindergartens and primary schools all over Melbourne. This wonderful program is heading to the Greek Centre, offering children of Primary School age the opportunity to take part in a hands-on class offering lessons in recipe recognition, practical cooking skills, sensory testing and nutrition education. The lesson will delivered in Greek and English, and students will be making a Greek dish.
For a riotous night out, gather a team a join in the antics on offer at the Greek Gastronomy Trivia Night, where ‘Frosso’ and ‘Judy’, the over-the-top tuck-shop ladies will serve up laughs with their questions. Lots of prizes to be won.

Those wanting to get their hands dirty can do so at the two workshops on offer. Angela Nicolettou (Angela’s Kitchen) who runs popular cooking classes will be teaching the secrets of Greek pittes (pies) and how perfect filo for both sweet and savoury recipes. If you’ve ever wondered how to pickle and preserve to perfection, Mary Valle (Mary’s Kitchen) can take you through the process for γλυκό του κουταλιού (Greek spoon sweets) and τουρσί which is the pickling of seasonal vegetables, traditionally carrots, celery and cabbage.

Elyros’s Angie Giannakodakis and Disa Dimitrakis present their version of Cretan cuisine with the modern spin of Chef Jarrod Smithakis, all set against the city’s night lights at the Greek Centre. This year’s feature dinner will offer an intimate dining experience appealing to all foodies, giving diners the opportunity to preview how some of the dishes are prepared before they devour seven delicious courses including dessert, all matched with carefully selected Greek wines.
