This one comes straight from Star Trek.

Sony plan to launch their new Personal 3D Viewer, a high definition 3D display built into a visor. Once connected to a game console, Blu-ray player or cable TV box, the glasses provide personal 3D viewing thanks to the two screens located in the product. I had a play with these units at the Sony Pavilion at IFA Berlin in September. The virtual reality feel took some getting used to; I played a car racing simulator in full 3D on a PS3 console, and drove like a seven-year-old! Still, after a few minutes you start to get the hang of it and begin to appreciate the experience. The trick is to keep your head still, as when you look around (which is natural in actual reality), all you see is the same screen. This can be confusing to the senses. I suspect improvement as more games are developed to take advantage of the 3D environment surrounding the player. Watching TV or a Blu-ray is, of course, not an issue. Slated for release in the USA next month, the product will retail for around $799. No news of an Australian launch date, but keep your eyes open for an announcement.
