*Note: This easy to make dish with a strange name is considered to be traditional in Makrinitsa and other villages of the very beautiful Pillion.

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons of olive oil
3/4 cup of sweet green peppers cut in strips
1 kilo of fresh peeled tomatoes cut in cubes
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 kilo of fresh spicy sausages

Method:

1. Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a saucepan
2. Sauté the peppers stirring for about 5 minutes on a medium heat and add the tomatoes
3. Add the salt, pepper and sugar and cook on slow heat for about 10 minutes
4. While this is cooking in a frypan add the remaining oil and fry the sausages on a high to medium heat till they are cooked well and they have colour on all sides
5. Remove sausages from frypan and cut into large pieces
6. Put sausages into sauce, cover and cook for another 10 minutes.
7. Serve hot
