Pioneer have announced the launch of their new portable Blu-Ray burner.

The BDR-XD04J will be launched at CES next month, and will include a stack of features and options.
The product will be able to handle BDXL BD-R discs, meaning it can burn triple-layer 100GB and quad-layer 128GB Blu-ray discs.
Reputed to be the world’s smallest BDXL-compatible portable drive, the product will support a maximum Blu-ray burn speed of 6x BD-R/-R DL, with the DVD burn speeds reaching 8x, and regular CD burn speeds of 24x.

The product is USB 2.0 compatible and weighs less than 8.5 ounces. It can also be used as a boot drive for compatible computers. Street price will be around $250 when it arrives here in early 2012.
