L'Oreal Fashion Festival
The winged eye dominated the Vogue Australia L’Oreal Paris Runway two.
The winged eye, metallics, and bold lips are key make-up trends for this Winter, if the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is anything to go by.
Each of the seven L’Oreal Paris runways showcased a unique look.
LIFEwithBIRD, Nicola Finetti, and Sass & Bide all sported bold ruby lips on Runway one, whilst Runway six in contrast was all about nude.
Runway five’s Bettina Liano, Extinct, Hussy, and Wayne Cooper all embraced the tomato red-orange lip, another big trend for Winter.
Tip: This look suites women with a warm skin tone, and looks great teamed with metallic gold eye shadow.
One of the looks I’m loving for its killer attitude is that of Runway three, which saw Lisa Ho, Nevenka and the like in smouldering grey eye shadow, and dark, vampy lips.
The lip colour used- L’Oreal Paris Ultra Glossy Lip Lacquer in Plum really captures the sultry, gothic glamour of this season’s fashion.
Although I must admit I’m more of a winged-eye nude lip girl, which is why I was so pleased to see it make a comeback on Vogue’s Runway two.
Here’s how to get the Runway two look:
Base: Apply L’Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation to create a long lasting canvas on the skin, dusting L’Oreal Paris Mattifying Minerals over the top for a flawless finish. Use a concealer brush to cover any imperfections with L’Oreal Paris True Match Touche Magique Concealer.
Eyes: Achieve a dark, sooty look using L’Oreal Paris Color Appeal Trio Pro in Night & Day Black, and follow with a a slick of L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner in Black above the lash line. Get the perfect winged eye using Rae Morris’ sticky tape trick which she demonstrated at the L’Oreal Paris beauty workshop.
Whilst looking straight ahead into the mirror, apply the tape to the skin so that it creates a slanted line from the outer corner of the eye to the end point of your eyebrow. Next create the wing by drawing a strong line along the sticky tape towards and along the upper lash line. Peel the sticky tape off and blend any sharp edges away if you feel necessary.
Finish with a layer of L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara for added impact.
Cheeks: Define cheeks by applying L’Oreal Paris Glam Bronze Powder in Gold Cinnamon along the hollows of the face towards the cheekbones.
Lips: It was all about a nude shine, which you can achieve by applying L’Oreal Paris Colour Rich Shine Gelee in Golden Cinnamon to your pout.
Tip: Transform your lips into an Angelina Jolie pout by applying a shimmery gold pigment to the cupid’s bow of your lip.
The nude look of Runway four is also oh-so-tempting to try, which saw Arabella Ramsay, Karen Walker, Mimco and Yeojin Bae with gorgeous, gold and latte tones on their eyes.
Eyes were lined with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Eyeliner in Chocolate Addiction, and lips defined with a scrumptious Golden Toffee lipstick, from the L’Oreal Paris Infallible lipstick range.
Tip: Apply gold to the inner V of the eyes to really open them up, advises Rae Morris.
