The long-awaited Australian concert appearance of Panos Kiamos finally happened and starting off with a bang in Adelaide. The atmosphere, slightly different from what he is used to, coming from the typical seated bouzoukia style in Greece, however, Adelaide had packed out HQ complex and sure enough brought along the kefi all night. With the concert running an hour and 20 minutes over time, clearly Kiamos was loving Adelaide’s crowd and its kefia.

Singing songs from most of his albums the stand out songs for the night included his latest hits Olokainourgios, Sfiriksa kai Elikses, Apopse Fora Ta Kala Sou, Apo Deftera, Girna Se Mena. Not forgetting the typical laika that get the crowd going crazy every time. Kiamos delivered all night and didn’t disappoint with any of his song selections.

Rumour has it that Adelaide’s concert was sold out or pretty close to it. There was hardly room to dance, leading to a constant flow of spectators jumping onto the stage for a chance to dance next to Kiamos and sneak in a picture or two.

Most singers, after a four hour concert and an international flight, wouldn’t spare much time for autographs and photos. Panos Kiamos, on the other hand, stopped throughout the concert to mention that he would be signing cards after the show for whoever was willing to line up and wait. Not only is he a great showman, singer and entertainer, but he is kind-hearted: and that’s why we love him.
