Australia’s most popular Greek Cypriot chef has once more partnered with Qatar Airways, this time to create a Greek inspired in-flight dining menu set to kick off on 1 October.

For his second collaboration with Qatar, George Calombaris has created a mouth-watering selection of dishes for travelers on Doha-bound flights from Perth, Sydney and Adelaide, and Melbourne; a menu that will help expose a much broader demographic to the variety and strength of the Hellenic cuisine.

Qatar Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said they are delighted to be working with the Master Chef Australia judge, following the international success their first venture was met with.

From Saturday on passengers travelling from Australia to Doha first or business class will be able to taste Calombaris’ Avgolemono (Greek lemon chicken soup), Moussaka, onion and potato Bastourma (traditional air-dried beef topside), Fraser Island crab with lemon marmalade and Tabbouleh. The menu will be introduced to economy class flyers by the first quarter of 2019.

“At Qatar Airways we are committed to offering our passengers the finest cuisine in the sky…,” Mr Al Bake said.

“We are excited to be able to bring Calombaris’ signature dishes to more Australian passengers this time around with our year-long partnership, and are certain his flair for creating dishes showcasing classic Greek flavours accompanied by fresh local produce will once again be a hit with our passengers.”

Mr Calombaris in turn said that he feels “privileged to work with a brand committed to excellence”.

“I look forward to continuously surprising and delighting passengers on-board with these delicious Greek-inspired dishes,” he concluded.
