20-year-old Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas may been eliminated from the Australian Open at the hands of Rafael Nadal but he has been forever immortalised with the creation of the Tsitsipas souvlaki.
True to its promise, the Stalactites restaurant has created the new souvlaki to honour the success of the rising star at the Australian Open.
The elimination did not dampen the souvlaki honours or the enthusiasm of the Greek community in basking in the success of the young player.
The souvlaki was created by Tsitsipas himself who chose the following ingredients: lamb, tomato, tzatziki, fresh pomegranate, fresh basil and mint, crumbed feta, chips, and a touch of chilli.
Just like Tsitsipas himself, the souvlaki is an amalgam of different flavours and a mix of traditional and modern.
