The parish of Saint Haralambos will be celebrating the church’s feast on Sunday. There will be a joyful atmosphere at the church with events hosted outside following the morning service. Parishioners and visitors alike can enjoy souvlakia, sweets, dancing and music with DJ Mike. Sunday is also the name day of people called Hara, Harry, Joy, Lambros or Babis named after the popular Greek Orthodox saint. Saint Haralambos is at 190 Porter St, Templestowe.
The wine will flow at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Kamariani at Red Hill on Sunday, 10 February. The grape celebration is being held for the 14th year and follows morning mass. At 11.30am, the grapes will be blessed and offered for free to visitors. The Manasis dance troupe will be present for Greek dancing at 12.30pm. Grape stomping will follow at 2pm, followed by even more festivities that include souvlaki, loukoumades, fun, games and music by DJ Chris.
