Greek fishermen on Naxos caught a giant tuna fish, the biggest to be seen in the Aegean in recent years. They proudly hung the fish onto the mast of their boat at Naxos port.
Naxospress.gr reports that the residents of Naxos were amazed by the size of the tuna and gathered to the fishing boat owned by the Makarounas brothers, fishermen from the island of Kalymnos.
The Makarounas brothers are known for their great skills as fishermen and their reputation goes beyond the borders of Greece.
The tuna weighs 288 kilos and is 2.74 metres long. The tuna may have impressed residents, however bluefin tuna has red meat and can reach as much as 450 kilos in weight.
