Actor, screenwriter, producer and director Nick Giannopoulos has been a frequent visitor of Mykonos since 1992. But it wasn’t until the success of his film Wog Boy 2: Kings of Mykonos that he made a name for himself in Greece.

While on the popular island this year, the Greek Australia was interviewed by Mykonos Live TV, during which he was asked about whether he still keeps in touch with his co-star Zeta Makripoulia.

“Yes I speak with Zeta every two years when she comes on tour to Australia with her boyfriend Mr Hatzigianni (singer Michalis Hatzigiannis). But I don’t get tickets, they don’t give me free tickets or anything unfortunately,” he said, making the interviewer laugh.

“She just calls me. The last couple of times she called me, she still thought I lived in Sydney. I tell her we filmed together over three months and every day I would tell you I’m from Melbourne. ‘Zeta for the last time, I live in Melbourne, not Sydney!’ Don’t go to Sydney again and call me, and say come and meet me in Sydney.”

The interviewer then goes on to say: “Could it be that there is no money? And that’s why they can’t give you tickets,” to which Giannopoulos replies “I understand”.

“I’m on the stage to. I have 65 cousins. If I gave all my cousins tickets, their children, their wives, what would I earn?! We’re Greeks. If you start with one Greek, before you know it there go 30 millions tickets!”

Giannopoulos revealed that he is working on the third instalment to the Wog Boy series, and that it will be filmed in Australia and premiered in Greece.
