Over the next few weeks the Immigration Museum, under the auspices of Museums Victoria, will be hosting a number of community forums in Melbourne. The museum stated that the forums were an opportunity for forum attendants to hear about the museum’s audience research and its plans for the future.

The promised consultation process follows in the wake of a Neos Kosmos media campaign earlier this year after a Herald Sun story which claimed that the Immigration Museum was looking to change its name to the Museum of Shared Humanity. The museum backtracked on its plans for a name change, however is holding community forums regarding the future of the museum.
