Greek fans of the laiko music genre will have reason to put their dancing shoes on around Australian capital cities if they choose to go to the Panos Kiamos’ concerts.

The singer has four shows scheduled in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne joined on stage by rising star Malu (Maria Kyriakopoulou), who has seen her reputation rising exponentially since coming second in music TV competition ‘Greek Idol’, in 2011.

Malu’s live shows are said to be uplifting and filled with kefi, and rest assured, her singing skills are also highly praised. A visit to videos from her latest album posted on YouTube is all that’s needed for those in doubt.

As for Kiamos, well really he doesn’t need many introductions. His 2012 sold-out tour Down Under, followed by a series of comebacks, should suffice to remind you of the popularity he enjoys within the country’s Greek community.

The 44-year old laiko star has 19 albums under his belt and even his first hits from 1998 are still heard in Greek radio: Trelos yia sena, Koita na mathaineis, Horis nero boro, Fotia me Fotia.

His most loyal followers will be looking forward to listen to newer songs as well in his upcoming tour, including his latest single Mou stoihizei.

Panos Kiamos and Malu perform live in Brisbane (1 November), Sydney (2 November), Adelaide (3 November) and Melbourne (4 November).
