Cloudy skies and low temperatures did not deter members and friends of Merimna Pontion Kyrion of Oceania from attending the annual Christmas party, which was held at the Sofitel Melbourne this year.

On arrival, guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly, followed by an array of delicacies provided at Sofi’s High Tea.

As with all of Merimna’s events, fund-raising went to a charity. In this case, $2,200 were gathered to help a family in need.

Merimna’s president Litsa Athanasiadis thanked those present and referred to the unveiling of George Devine Treloar Memorial Statue in Ballarat.

“I would like to thank Merimna for its continued support for the fundraising effort to erect the statue in Ballarat,” she said. “The journey started four years ago with many people contributing their time and energy to make it a reality.”
