The death of the 66-year-old who contracted coronavirus after a trip to the Holy Land came after public health authorities had ordered the closure of all educational institutions for two weeks.

The spread of the disease to 117 people has caused authorities to proceed with more drastic measures. There are 34 people hospitalised, with three in intensive care units.

Most of the coronavirus patients – 82 people – had contracted the illness from the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and another 25 had contracted coronavirus after having come into contact with them. Another 10 cases of origin could not be traced and 15 cases are still being examined for confirmation.
