To this date, Australia has recorded 6781 Covid-19 cases and lost 94 people to the pandemic.

The global death toll from coronavirus has exceeded 239,000 with over 3.3 million known cases of infection.

At the same time, but more than 1 million people have recovered, Johns Hopkins University states.

With Victoria recording it’s second highest number of new cases in a day, 13, the debate about schools reopening and restrictions easing further continues.

Since Saturday, Victoria Police has handed out 46 fines for breaching social distancing conducting 853 spot checks; the number has gone up from 30 on Friday. Ten people who gathered at a private residence and four males in a vehicle were amongst those fined with $1652 multiple individuals and groups committing criminal offences were also recorded.

NSW has recorded four new cases raising the state’s total number of cases to 3035 since the start of the pandemic.

“This virus is very dangerous and largely still unknown virus. And we need to do everything we can to try and keep our community safe for that community has to be partners in that,” Minister for Health Brad Hazzard said.

As per NSW Health updates, 106 cases are being treated by NSW Health, 14 people are currently in ICU, of whom 11 require ventilators and 2306 people have recovered.

Meanwhile, only one case of Covid-19 in Brisbane’s south was reported in Queensland with total state numbers climbing to 1035.

Health Minister Steven Miles confirmed that only 53 active COVID-19 cases left in Queensland, with nine of those in hospital and four in intensive care while 976 of the patients having recovered.

However, during the first day of eased movement restrictions 35 fines were issued by police to people breaching safety regulations.
