Pammesinian Brotherhood ‘Papaflessas’ has also come on board the donation drives run by Melbourne Greeks to support individuals and families in need during the pandemic.

“I am very happy with the results and moved by the response,” Ms Litsa Athanasiadis, president of Merimna of Pontian Ladies and one of those who spearheaded the initiative told Neos Kosmos.

The Pallaconian Brotherhood ‘Leonidas’ is also among the organisations participating, with their Brunswick premises filled with non-perishable food products and other essentials waiting to be dispatched.

The donation drives, as extensively covered by Neos Kosmos, have been embraced over the last few weeks during the peak of the pandemic crisis by a number of community organisations, including Melbourne’s and Victoria’s Central Pontian Organisation: Pontiaki Estia, Merimna of Pontian Ladies, the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand, the Cretan Brotherhood, the Pancretan Association, the Pallaconian Brotherhood of Melbourne and Victoria ‘Leonidas’ and the Pammesinian Brotherhood ‘Papaflessas’.
