Natalie Kyriacou OAM is proceeding apace with her environmental work regardless of the interest stirred by her recently publicised relationship with Tommy Little, the host of The Project on Network Ten.

Interest in her relationship with Mr Little was stirred by a snapshot on Instagram showing the popular comedian with decorated environmental campaigner.

“Everything is going well between us and we are dating but my own work and achievements should stand on their own and not be the result of being someone’s girlfriend,” said Ms Kyriacou and she has taken the opportunities provided by lockdown to push ahead with the environmental work that earned a the Medal Order of Australia when she was just 30 in 2018.

“I am currently rebuilding my app (World of the Wild mobile game app) while in lockdown as part of my do-list to reach a wider range of people in terms of conservation,” Ms Kyriacou told Neos Kosmos.

The app, she said, was aimed at inspiring curiosity about conservation and wildlife and to create a fun educational content that challenged people to ask more questions about wildlife.

Conservation is at the heart of her enterprise which has earned her mention on Forbes 30 Under 30 list. She is also the founder and CEO of the My Green World website which is dedicated to international conservation.

“We have a global audience with networks across Australia, the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. The audience has popped up in unexpected places. Our topics focus on global issues, not just issues focused on Australia,” she said.

“Now is a critical time and we have a unique opportunity to address global climate change and environmental issues. COVID-19 has given a unique chance to halt climate challenges and see whether we can pursue  de-carbonisation.
