After impressive seasons in previous years, the hilarious comedy Alex & Eve is back at the Factory Theatre this May.

Written by Alex Lykos and directed by Michael Block, Alex & Eve delves into the humorous adventures of Alex (Lykos), a male version of Bridget Jones, whose parents were continuously pressuring him to settle down and marry a conventional Greek Orthodox good girl.

Much to his parents’ dismay Alex now plans to marry Eve (Zoe Ventoura), a Lebanese-Muslim girl whose parents are equally pressuring her to settle down with a good Lebanese-Muslim partner. This latest instalment to the A and E saga delves into the drama that ensues when the two plan their “oil and water” union.

The two venture to prepare a wedding that will satisfy a devoutly orthodox family as well as a devoutly Muslim family, as neither family budge an inch to make the process easier.

In a climate where religion has polarised everyone, can two people from different worlds build a life together? What will win out – the power of national pride, religion and cultural tradition or the passion of love?

This hilarious performance wowed audiences at the Greek Festival of Sydney in 2008 and returns for with all your favourite characters. Take part in the hottest hook up of the month of May.

Be at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville, NSW, from Thursday May 21 until Sunday May 31 for a peek into the controversial union that is Alex & Eve.
