On Saturday night, Oakleigh Cannons let slip a golden opportunity to take the maximum points away from VPL leaders Dandenong Thunder away from home.

Oakleigh raced to a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Jerry Karpeh and Ivan Franjic and they led 0-2 at half time.

But Dandenong hit back with a goal from Joe Di Lorio around the 70th minute.

Despite Ryan Davidson missing a penalty for Dandenong, former VIS youngster Tabor scored the crucial equaliser in the 86th minute.

The goal kept Dandenong’s undefeated streak intact while Oakleigh remain outside the Top 5 with 18 points after 13 rounds.

Oakleigh are away to the
Melbourne Knights on Sunday.
