Greek Australian Hells Angels associate, Peter Zervas, appeared in court in Sydney last week charged with riot and affray over a vicious airport brawl in Sydney’s airport in late March.

The brawl led to the murder of his brother Anthony Zervas. The head of a rival bikie gang, The Commancheros, Mahmoud ‘Mick’ Hawi was charged this week with Anthony Zervas’ murder, according to media reports.

One week after his brother’s death, Peter Zervas was shot several times outside his mother’s apartment in Lakemba. No suspects have been arrested so far regarding the incident.

Seven days after the ambush, Mr Zervas left the hospital but refused to receive police protection. The Herald Sun reported that the mother of Zervas spoke briefly to the media outside the court asking for the public’s assistance.

“All I can say is for the public to help, please help the police so we can find out what’s going on with the murder of my son,” Frederika Bromwich said.

Potential witnesses should not be afraid of retribution, according to Bromwich. The defence lawyer of Peter Zervas did not apply for bail and his client was remanded in custody.

His case will be heard on July 9.
