The much anticipated return of Michalis Hatzigiannis to Australia has just got even more exciting for Melbourne audiences.
The singer has announced a second show in Melbourne for Saturday October 10, as well as his original performance the night before.
Hatzigiannis kicked off his music career at a young age in Cyprus.
His debut saw him achieve three platinum records, and the singer represented Cyprus in the Eurovision song contest in 1998.
The star released his first solo album in 2000 tilted Paraxeni Giorti, which produced the biggest hit of that year Mono Sta Oneira, staying on top of the charts for a number of consecutive weeks.
Hatzigiannisí first solo album went double platinum and soon became a landmark in his career as a singer-songwriter.
On the back of this success, he soon began circulating Athens performing live to budding new fans.
The artistís second solo release Krifo Fili was released the following year and achieved triple platinum status. A number of successful songs came from the compilation such as Eisai Edo, To SíAgapo and Kapnos. Hatzigiannisí position in the Greek music scene was soon cemented after the great success of Krifo Fili.
A collection of five songs was unleashed on his adoring fan base in 2003, with Hatzigiannisí EP Monos Mou.
His summer tour of Greece in that year recorded a whopping 63 sell out shows and Hatzigiannis also received three Greek music awards.
The following year he continued performing live and subsequently received another four accolades including Best Male Performer for the Year.
After teaming up with Terzis in 2004, Hatzigiannis performed for a further 30 live shows.
These concerts were recorded and released as a live CD in 2006, which also achieved triple platinum.
During last yearís European summer season, another single Emis I Dio San Ena was released as a teaser to the starís next album titled 7.
Hatzigiannis has not been to Australia since October 2005 and had vowed to perform only one show in Melbourne.
