From inception until the setting up process, how did you start your business?

From an iconic Melbournian lane way – Centre place, In a Rush originated in a shop that began serving three different types of soup.

As the demand grew, I made the conclusion that there was an opportunity in Melbourne’s market for a wide variety of soups of my particular standard.

After travelling around the world, the soup range increased to six.

Theo Kanatas, the mastermind behind Juggernaut Entertainment, Melbourne’s leading Greek promoting company was a regular consumer of the soups.

After a brief discussion, we created a partnership combining our expertise – I was the food connoisseur with several years experience, and Theo commanded a successfully proven business sense.

The excitement of the first store unfolded when we offered a selection of 9 different soups, which quickly led to 17 by the second day of operation due to the demand. A few months later, we expanded the business by spreading the flavours to six stores all over Melbourne.

Has your Greek Australian background play any role in your business?

Definitely. Our parents came to this country to build our future by creating opportunities. They worked for themselves through hardship helping to compose our business mind.

By seeing what they went through, they paved the way for us to be confident in our endeavours to achieve whatever it was we sought after.

Even after travelling the world, we both still maintain that our mothers are the best cooks in the world.

What would you say stands out as the comparative advantage of your business over the competition?

Quality can never be compromised. That’s why we pride ourselves exclusively on selling the best and most extensive range Australia wide.

Our chefs make our soups from scratch; everything that goes into our soups is fresh, natural and preservative free. We even have a vast range of gluten and dairy free soups catering to the community as a whole.

Aside from our innovation and individuality, the biggest advantage is our constant passion and drive, which we endeavour each and every single day of the year.

We pride ourselves on our consistency, ensuring that all soups are being taste tested daily. Our authenticity and commitment to quality is reflected through the  fact that even Theo’s mum contributes to the soup range, making her specialty fish soup with snapper.

How is business currently?

Our business is growing rapidly as people are more health conscious than ever before. We have a proven record of the fact that people enjoy eating hearty, homely and flavours from all around the world.

What is your vision for the future of your business?

We are looking to expand our brand nationally with the intention of franchising. We have had avid interest from Adelaide, Sydney, and Tasmania.

Do you have any tips for young entrepreneurs who want to invest in the hospitality industry?

The recipe for success is hard work, determination, passion and drive each and every single day. Never give up is what we have found in our experience.
