Athenian water polo sides Vouliagmeni and Panionios will enter the second qualifying round of the Euroleague, after finishing second in the first round group played in Slovakia last week.

Vouliagmeni, the southern Athens side, registered three wins and one defeat in the fourth qualifying group of men’s top club competition in Europe.

Following last Monday’s draw, Vouliagmeni would have been pleased to host the group which will include Vojvodina (Serbia), Spartak Volgograd (Russia) and Honved (Hungary).

In contrast, Panionios received a more difficult draw after being drawn alongside Brescia (Italy), Sibenik (Croatia) and host Eger (Hungary).

The group games will be played on October 23-25, with the top two teams from each pool reaching the last 16 of the competition and the other two relegated to the LEN Trophy.

Greek champions Olympiakos have automatically qualified to the last 16 of the Euroleague.
