The Greek winter sales started on Friday with expectations that the winter sales will feature sales items discounted by between 50 and 60 percent.
Many retailers had started their sales immediately after the New Year in an attempt to stimulate sales, following muted retail sales in the run up to Christmas with retail sales figures 20 percent down on the comparable period in 2008.
The sales will finish on February 27.
