Cup favourites Panathinaikos were given the best possible draw for the quarterfinals on Friday, but may face PAOK in the semifinals later on.

The draw that concerned both the sixth and the seventh round of the competition has pitted Panathinaikos with third-division Kallithea, with the game to be staged at Panathinaikos. If the match ends in a draw there will be a replay at Kallithea.

The winner of this tie will play the winner of the PAS Yiannina vs PAOK clash in the first semifinal.

The other pairings for the quarterfinals are Xanthi vs Aris and Kavala vs Panionios, with the winners setting up the pair of the other semifinal.
The semifinals will be home-and-away ties.

The dates will be announced on Monday, but it has already been announced that the final will take place on Saturday, April 24.

The draw followed the second phase of Cup matches on Wednesday which saw PAOK, Panionios, Xanthi and PAS Yiannina join the lineup for the quarterfinals of soccer’s Greek Cup.

PAOK beat the conquerors of Olympiakos, Panserraikos with a 2-0 score away, with goals coming from Lino and Thanassis Papazoglou, one in each half.

Xanthi faced a strong resistance by B’ Ethniki side Olympiakos Volou but won 2-0 through goals by Marcelinho and Buga.

Panionios needed an injury time winner by former Aston Villa and Brugge striker Bosko Balaban to defeat second-division Thrasyvoulos away 1-0.

Finally in the all-Super League clash of the day PAS Yiannina upset host Atromitos with a 1-0 win in extra time. Costas Mendrinos scored the winning goal for the Epirus side at the sixth minute of extra time.
