Melbourne bodybuilder Elena Tsatsos has claimed the first ever South Pacific/Oceania Figure overall title, adding the trophy to a string of recent successes.

The latest title saw her fend off competition from around Australia along with New Zealand, in which all previous first place winners compete in the showdown.

Tsatsos’ other recent trophies include a first place in the IFBB Victorian Championships, which was followed by a first place in a form of body sculpting called Figure at the Australian Championships.

Following the successes, Tsatsos has been asked by invitation to the Arnold Classic held in Ohio in March 2011.

The classic is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Bodybuilding/Figure/Fitness show that is by invitation only, one of the biggest and most high-profile shows each year.

The Melbourne Champion is rumoured to become the next IFBB Australian Professional Athlete, which will make Tsatsos the only current Australian figure professional.

In an exclusive interview, Tsatsos told Neos Kosmos, “Competing as a professional allows me to compete overseas against other professional athletes for prize money, also a top three placing allows entry into the Olympia show, held once a year in Las Vegas.”

Tsatsos hopes that her recent successes and forthcoming participation in these high profile shows would attract sponsors to assist in her cause.

“I am a personal trainer and fitness model, however my dream is to become a professional figure competitor, something that is extremely hard to achieve, yet is so close!” she said.
