The Estia Greek Festival 2011 in Hobart kicks off next week. The festival, coordinated by the Greek Community of Tasmania, showcases Greek culture and the value it brings to Tasmania.
Throughout March, the Estia Greek Festival will be hosting various events to celebrate Hellenism in Australia. These events include: the Estia street festival; film night; family meal night; art and photo exhibition and the ever-competitive Estia soccer match.
The festival will kick off with Taverna Night Greek Banquet, held on Saturday March 5 and hosted by the Hellenic Hall in North Hobart. The Taverna Night Greek Banquet will feature traditional Greek food, Greek dancing and Greek music, with a live band featuring bouzouki. Tickets are $50 per person for a night of traditional Greek festivities.
