Fashion designer Alex Perry is set to quit smoking on May 31 as part of World No Tobacco Day.
Quit smoking product maker Nicabate has launched a Pledge to Quit page on facebook with Perry as the ambassador so people can join in and pledge to quit smoking together on World No Tobacco Day. So far more than 2000 Australian smokers are planning to quit next week alongside Perry.
Perry told Sydney Morning Herald that smoking goes hand-and-hand with the fashion industry.
“I think the fashion industry is known for smoking, if that makes sense,” Perry said.
“It’s a glass of champagne and a cigarette, and it’s all fabulous darling, but it actually isn’t, and that’s why I want to lead a healthier life.”
