Adelaide man Vasilios Konstantinou, accused of running a large cannabis drug ring in Greece, can be extradited from Australia ruled a magistrate in court.

Outside the court, he was arrested by Federal Police and taken into custody. Konstantinou, 55, faced the Magistrates Court over allegations he was involved in cannabis production in 2005.

In his defence, he argued that he had already been exonerated by Greek courts in another case and the allegations were inconsistent with Australian laws at the time. The Federal Government will have the final say on whether or not he will be handed over to Greece. He has 15 days to appeal against the ruling.
