Mitlon Orkopoulos, disgraced former Swansea MP, has told lashed out at the woman who helped put him in jail telling her through a letter he sent her lawyer that he was penniless and single and that she was “welcome to the clothes off (his) back”.

The former New South Wales government minister, who is currently serving nine years in Lithgow jail, sent the letter to whistleblower Gillian Sneddon’s solicitor last month telling her he was unable to pay Sneddon the $438,000 he owes in damages.

Orkopoulos was jailed in May 2008 on 30 charges which included possessing child pornography, heroin supply and sexual intercourse without consent. The minimum sentence was reduced to nine years after an appeal in 2009, making him eligible for release in January 2017 and says that he will still be unable to pay upon his release.

In reply to this letter, Sneddon wrote to Orkopoulos and said ”you have stuffed up my life, as you have your victims. I hope you do not get any pleasure in that”.
