Crime rates are on the rise, with immigration offences at the top of reasons for the arrests.

A statement by police stated that they made 20,991 arrests in October, a significant increase to the arrests made in September at 15,900. It was also reported that illegal immigrants made up nearly two-thirds of the crimes committed. Police also stated that last month there were 17 arrests for murder, 149 for armed robbery, 1106 for burglary and 999 for drug-related offences. Arrests relating to armed robbery have doubled in the past year.
