Adventurers James Castrission and his friend Justin Jones have finally arrived in Antarctica after bad weather saw them stranded in South America. Castrission and Jones, known as Cas and Jonesy, landed in Hercules Inlet on the coast of Antarctica this week to begin the arduous journey of walking completely unsupported to the South Pole and back.
The first leg of the journey has been brutal on these two adventure seekers with steep, icy and uneven terrain, low visibility, not to mention the fact that they are dragging 150 kilograms of pulks behind them. But they say they are taking every day as it comes – even with the long, tiring days and odd blisters. If Cas and Jonesy do complete their expedition successfully, they will be the youngest team to ever reach the South Pole.
