Victorian police have issued a stern warning to drivers on the deadliest day on Victoria’s roads, New Year’s Eve and have promised to crack down on drivers.
The police will be all over roads in Victoria, breath testing drivers with over 100 highway patrol units and eight booze buses.
Superintendent Neville Taylor told The Age:
”There are those out there who will just disregard the laws and their
safety by drink-driving and there are those who misjudge things and
think they’re OK to drive.”
”It doesn’t matter if you try to do the right thing and you crash and
kill yourself. You’re just as dead.”
Police will be targetting roads into the city and coastal areas but said that you should be wary of wherever in Victoria you drive and to expect to breath tested.
