A Victorian teacher is under investigation after taking part in an online adult video. The Geelong high school where the teacher works, says it is taking th allegations “very seriously”.

Oberon High School principal Alison Murphy said she took immediate action when she was aware that the film was circulating among the students of the high school in Belmont.

The alleged English teacher has taken leave from his teaching duties after the graphic video was uncovered by students on a pornographic website, who began discussing and sharing the link on social networking sites.

The graphic footage shows a woman, who at one stage is blindfolded while a man is naked on a bed. It is said that the woman is a former student of the teacher from several years ago and there is no suggestion the couple had a relationship while the woman was a student.

Several parents are said to have reported the incident to the school after their children were sent links to the online video and a number of parents who have seen the film are adamant that the teacher is the same person in the film.

Many students have expressed their shock on social networking sites about the allegations, while other students defended their teacher, saying he was well regarded among students. A Department of Education spokesman said an investigation had been launched and “appropriate action” would be taken once the full details of the matter were known.
