George Houvardas has his sights set on Hollywood. The Greek Australian actor, known for his role as Nick ‘Carbo’ Karandonis on Packed to the Rafters, is looking at expanding his career and will visit the US and meet with an LA-based agent in the hope of landing a film role.
“I will be over in the States in the next couple of weeks and my next step is to get an agent over there and see what I can do,” Houvardas says.
“I’ve been there a couple of times and I want to open a door there. I want to do a film.
“As an actor you can work anywhere and you have to create these opportunities and America is a big opportunity.”
Shooting for the channel seven hit show Packed to the Rafters will resume shooting for it’s sixth season in September. Houvardas says he loves being in Rafters but is always looking for that elusive Hollywood hit.
“Carbo is a great character, but for me it’s always about the next role,” he said
“I will be picky what I do next, be it film or television – here or America.
“Hopefully it will be a role that will match up with Carbo’s personality and his popularity.”
Houvardas was at the Brisbane Paniyiri last weekend judging the Greek Dancing with the Stars contest.
