Ingredients:

500 grams hilopites

1 kilo raw prawns

3 medium onions, grated

1 kilo ripe tomatoes cut in thick cubes

1 cup tomato juice

1 small wineglass of dry white wine

1 small wineglass of olive oil

500 grams feta cheese, cut in thick cubes

1-2 red-hot chili peppers (whole)

1/2 teaspoon sugar Salt, freshly ground pepper

1 small wineglass of ouzo

 

Method:

1. Boil water in a pot. Put in the prawns and leave for about 6 minutes.

2. Strain, let cool a little, and clean the prawns

3. In a second pan, stir fry onions for two minutes

4. Add the tomatoes, tomato juice, wine, chili peppers, sugar, and salt

5. When the sauce starts to thicken, add the ouzo, then the prawns, and let simmer for three minutes

6. Prepare the hilopites

7. While they are still hot stir in the feta cubes

8. Then reverse into the saucepan and let simmer for one minute carefully swinging the pot to make ingredients blend together

9. Grind some pepper on top and serve immediately
