Outrage has erupted over the creation of a group calling itself the ‘Australian-Greek Advisory Council (AGAC)’ who have made statements condemning the community disputing the naming rights of Macedonia. The group is said to have been created by FYROM members and, according to the Australian Macedonian Advisory Council (AMAC), uses the internet to publish their materials.
Sources to Neos Kosmos said that AGAC sent out a group email stating they disapprove “when bilateral issues between Greece and its neighbouring countries are brought out on Australian Territory by Greek authorities and community organisations”.
AMAC conducted an ASIC company search and no such organisation was found and is not a registered entity. AMAC did a search on their website – which has now been shut down – and they believe it is not run by Greek Australians but is a front for members of the FYROM community.
